Membership Services

Welcome to the Georgia Community Action Association's Membership Portal (Individual Memberships and Organization Memberships), your gateway to collaboration, where we unite to forge pathways of opportunity and growth through peer networking, personalized engagement with your membership profile, and comprehensive organizational resources, all dedicated to advancing our shared mission to alleviate poverty.

Professional Development and Capacity Building
In line with our mission, we provide an extensive suite of professional development opportunities and capacity-building strategies. Our goal is to equip Community Action Agencies with the tools necessary to effectively combat poverty and empower individuals and communities towards self-sufficiency. These services include workshops, seminars, and webinars tailored to the evolving needs of our member agencies and the populations they serve.

  • Extensive Training Programs: We deliver a variety of training programs focused on building the core competencies of staff within our member agencies.
  • Advanced Capacity Building Initiatives: Our initiatives go beyond basic training to provide agencies with the tools necessary for strategic planning, outcome measurement, and implementing best practices.

Resource Development and Assistance
Our vision of a strong, united network is supported by ongoing resource development, which ensures that our member agencies have access to the latest information, funding opportunities, and innovative poverty-alleviation strategies. We actively collaborate with a mixture of public and private funding sources, helping our network to sustain and expand the vital services provided to Georgians in need.

  • Resource Development and Grant Support: We assist member agencies in identifying and accessing diverse funding streams.
  • Resources to Support Innovative Poverty Alleviation Strategies: We identify and research tools, funding, and partnerships that enable effective deployment of new and impactful approaches to reduce poverty and improve economic self sufficiency

Customized Training and Technical Assistance
Acknowledging the unique challenges different communities face, we offer customized training and technical assistance - a promise of community action. These are curated to address the specific needs of the 20 Community Action Agencies and 3 Public Entities that make up our human service network in Georgia.

  • Individualized Technical Assistance: Our technical assistance is tailored to meet the needs of individual agencies.
  • Quality Assurance and Best Practices: Understanding the importance of quality assurance, we help our members implement best practices that ensure excellence in service delivery. This includes the development of standards, performance assessments, and continuous improvement processes.

Strategic Information Dissemination
As key players in the fight against poverty, our member agencies receive critical updates on legislative changes, policy developments, and significant issues affecting low-income families. This ensures that all member agencies are well-informed and can better carry out their purpose and mission in their local context.

  • Legislative Advocacy and Policy Support: We play a key role in advocating for policies that support the fight against poverty.
  • Specialized Information Resources: We curate and disseminate specialized information tailored to the needs of our network.

Collaborative Community Partnerships
Recognizing that tackling poverty requires a collaborative effort, we maintain and foster strategic partnerships across a broad spectrum of sectors, including government, private foundations, businesses, and community organizations. These partnerships amplify our collective impact and help facilitate the transition out of poverty for families and individuals across Georgia.

  • Strategic Partnership Development and Maintenance: We actively nurture existing partnerships while seeking new alliances that can amplify the effect of community action work.

Networking and Shared Learning Opportunities
We organize events and forums that allow member agencies to network, share best practices, and learn from each other, furthering our collective commitment to social and economic justice throughout the State of Georgia.

  • Networking and Peer-to-Peer Exchanges: Recognizing the value of collective wisdom, we facilitate networking opportunities that foster collaborations and peer-to-peer learning.
